The Complianz alternative that isn't tied to WordPress
Complianz is a well-regarded WordPress privacy suite: banner, scanner and legal documents inside your WordPress admin. If you run sites on several platforms, want Consent Mode v2 without a premium licence, or prefer a script that doesn't add another plugin to WordPress, PrivacyPill is a lighter option.

Plugin vs. script
Complianz runs inside WordPress, which is great when WordPress is all you manage: it can read your plugins, configure integrations and generate documents. The trade-off is that it only covers WordPress, and its premium features — including Consent Mode v2, geo IP and records of consent — require a yearly licence per installation.
PrivacyPill is a single script you add to any site's <head>. The same dashboard handles WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Next.js and hand-built sites, and Consent Mode v2 plus the consent log are included on the free plan.
When Complianz is the better choice
Complianz is likely the better fit if:
- You only run WordPress and want banner, scanner and legal documents (privacy statement, imprint, disclaimer) managed in one plugin.
- You need its certified TCF integration for advertising, or WordPress Multisite tooling (Agency plan).
Switching from Complianz on WordPress
Deactivate the Complianz plugin (export your cookie policy text first if you used it), then add the PrivacyPill embed with a header-code plugin such as WPCode or in your theme's header. Mark scripts you want blocked with data-pp-category. Our WordPress guide walks through every step.
