Terms of service
Last updated 28 October 2026
1. The service
PrivacyPill provides a hosted cookie consent banner, a configuration dashboard, a website scanner and related documentation. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
2. Not legal advice
PrivacyPill gives you tools that support compliance with the GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive and similar laws. Whether your website is compliant depends on how you configure the banner, which tools you use and what your privacy policy says. You remain the controller for your visitors' data and are responsible for your own compliance.
3. Plans and licenses
- Free: one domain and up to 5,000 pageviews per month. If you exceed the limit, the banner keeps working and we'll ask you to upgrade.
- Pro: billed monthly (€9) or yearly (€79), excluding VAT. Renews automatically until cancelled; cancelling keeps Pro active until the end of the paid period.
- Lifetime: a one-time payment (€49, excluding VAT) for one domain with unlimited pageviews and all updates for as long as PrivacyPill operates. The license can be moved between domains you own.
License keys are personal to the account that holds them. You may transfer a key to another account (for example, to a client) using the redeem feature.
Checkout is run by Stripe and purchases are sold through Link, which issues your receipt or VAT invoice and handles refunds. Subscriptions can be cancelled or changed any time in the billing portal. If a Lifetime payment is refunded or reversed, its license is revoked and the site returns to the free plan.
Referral rewards: when someone signs up through your free-plan badge or referral link and buys a plan, you receive 30 days of Pro. Rewards stack, have no cash value and can't be exchanged. We may withhold rewards for self-referrals or abuse.
4. Fair use
Don't use PrivacyPill to deceive visitors, to fake consent, or on domains you don't control. Don't attempt to overload the service or to inflate other customers' usage. We may suspend accounts that do.
5. Availability
We aim for the banner script to be available at all times and design it to fail safe: if it can't load, Google tags stay in denied mode when you use the recommended fallback line. We can't guarantee uninterrupted availability.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that can't be limited by law.
7. Changes
We may update these terms. For material changes we'll notify account holders by email at least 30 days in advance.
