Termly alternative

The Termly alternative built for European websites

Termly combines a consent banner with legal policy generators, priced in US dollars with banner-view limits on its lower plans. If you mainly serve European visitors and want geo-targeting, consent exports and full Consent Mode v2 without the top tier, PrivacyPill is a focused alternative.

Advanced Consent Mode from the free plan

Google's Consent Mode has two flavours. In basic mode, Google tags don't load at all until the visitor consents. In advanced mode, tags load in a denied state and send cookieless pings, which lets Google model conversions you'd otherwise lose. PrivacyPill always sets denied defaults first and updates them on every choice — the advanced setup — on every plan, including Free.

When Termly is the better choice

Termly is likely the better fit if:

  • You want several legal policies (privacy policy, terms, and more) generated alongside your banner — Pro+ includes unlimited policies.
  • You need IAB TCF for advertising, banners in many languages or weekly scheduled scans on Pro+.

Switching from Termly

Remove the Termly consent script and add the PrivacyPill embed as the first script in <head>. Mark scripts to block with data-pp-category, and point the banner's policy link at your existing policy page. Then confirm consent defaults and updates in Google Tag Assistant.
